Beauty Killed the Beast

I told myself i would upload all the stuff i did last semester before posting anything new... but then I changed my mind. This is my Art Nouveau triptych for communication design.
I thought it would be interesting to create a series of Mucha-esque paintings portraying something out-of-whack like a sickeningly sweet death, where most Art Nouveau subjects were entirely light and frivolous. The metaphor, “beauty killed the beast” translates as a sort of out-with-the-old, in-with-the-new interpretation, where trademark female subjects of Art Nouveau are making way for the future by dismissing the styles of old, hence the slaughtering of the pig.  Just go with it.  Since the piece portrays a transitional period, I thought I should arrange the three pieces so that they'd create the shape of a merging-lane traffic sign (the past merging into the present).  It is an exaggerated and dark play on the idea of progression.
Yes, I know the Art Nouveau movement has been overused. The way I saw it, it was either something like "Abstract Expressionism" or foxy ladies killing a pig.
